Energy Perspective is the consulting lens through which Astrid Kruijt works with founders and leadership teams to create clarity, strengthen alignment and focus resources on what creates the greatest impact.
Sustainable performance is rarely about doing more. It is about making better choices.
"Over the past 18 years, I have had the privilege of working with highly capable people in both global and local organisations across Finance, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain and IT. People who were ambitious and deeply committed to their organisation.
And yet, one pattern kept repeating itself. Teams trying to do it all. One more opportunity, one more initiative, one more priority. The belief that if we worked hard enough, we could make it all happen. Sometimes we could. But it always came at an opportunity cost. Focus became diluted, energy became fragmented, people became stretched.
And in trying to do everything, they often lost sight of what mattered most.
My finance background gave me a different lens. When it comes to money, everyone readily accepts that every euro can only be spent once. But when it comes to time, attention and energy, we often act as if there is always more to give. There isn’t. Real progress begins the moment we accept that all resources are finite.
When organisations have the courage to focus on what matters most, something powerful happens. Clarity increases. People understand how they contribute. Commitment grows. And energy is released. That belief became the foundation of Energy Perspective.
Sustainable performance is rarely about doing more. It is about making better choices.
If you are a founder or a leader who feels pulled in too many directions and suspect the answer isn’t doing more, I'd love to have a conversation.” - Astrid Kruijt
This thinking informs Astrid's consulting work directly, shaping how she reads and engages with leadership teams, and supports organisations in understanding what is driving their current reality.

How I Work

WHO DO I WORK WITH?
I work with leadership and functional teams made up of capable, experienced people who are not achieving what they could achieve together. Often, much of what should be in place already is. There is a strategy, responsibilities are defined and people are working hard. Yet execution is falling short. This is particularly relevant for teams working across functions or supporting a wider organisation, where results depend on strong collaboration with different stakeholders.
WHEN IS MY ROLE MOST VALUABLE?
My role is most valuable when execution has stalled, but the reason why is not immediately clear. You may have a strategy and a strong team. People should know what they need to do, yet somehow it is not happening. Often, the issue is not capability or commitment. Different interpretations of success, competing priorities, unclear ownership or expectations between teams can quietly get in the way.
HOW DO I WORK?
I rarely start with answers. I bring together different perspectives via active listening and combine them with what is already available. From strategy and KPI reporting to employee feedback, to understand what is working and what is getting in the way. From there, we get clear on where you want to go and what needs to change. I challenge assumptions, ask questions that may not have been asked yet, and translate what we learn into practical choices, priorities and ownership. I build on what already works and adapt the approach to the organisation and the people in it.
The aim is not dramatic change. It is meaningful change that people can sustain.
WHAT MAKES MY APPROACH DIFFERENT?
I look at the whole picture, from what happens under the hood to the value ultimately delivered to the customer. My background across Finance, Commercial, Data and People Leadership helps me connect strategy and performance with the realities of how people and teams work together. Often, people who appear to be aligned are actually working from different definitions of success. Who is our customer? What problem are we solving for them? And what does that require from each of us? Creating a shared understanding of definition of succes can unlock progress.
WHAT DOES SUCCESS LOOK LIKE?
Success means people know where they are going, what matters most and what they are responsible for, while also understanding what others around them own. There is clarity between teams and their stakeholders about what they can expect from each other and what each needs to contribute. Strategy becomes visible in everyday decisions, actions and results. Ultimately, success is better results on what truly matters with greater clarity, stronger connection and more positive energy along the way.
WHAT DOES WORKING TOGETHER LOOK LIKE?
I work as a sparring partner to the leader and alongside the team.
I stay close enough to challenge thinking, bring structure and help turn decisions into action. That can mean sharpening priorities, defining ownership and KPIs, designing a performance rhythm or facilitating the conversations needed to keep things moving. I prefer focused, practical changes over large transformation programmes. We build on what works, change what doesn't and adjust as we learn. The goal is not to leave behind a report. It is to leave behind a way of working that continues to deliver.
